Coverage windows let you hand your urgent calls to your backup for a set stretch of time — an overnight, a day off — without giving up your clients. When the window ends, urgent calls come back to you automatically.
Set one up (mobile)
In the Cradled mobile app: Business → Practice tools → On-call coverage, in the Cover for me section.
- Tap one of the presets: Rest of today, Overnight, or 24 hours. (The window starts now; the end time is computed for you.)
- Optionally add a handoff note — "Anything they should know?" — a quick heads-up for whoever's covering.
That's it. The window routes to your primary backup automatically, so set a backup first if you haven't (see On-call coverage & your backup).
While a window is active
You'll see a confirmation that your backup has your urgent calls until the end time, with your handoff note shown. During the window, your backup gets operational visibility into your clients — including their notes — so they can actually help if a client reaches out.
Ending it early
Back sooner than planned? Tap I'm back to close the window immediately. Urgent calls route to you again right away.
