Standard steps are your care checklist — the things you do for every client, in order — defined once and tracked per client. They keep care consistent, whether you're solo or every doula in a collective is following the same flow.
Defining the steps
- In a collective: the owner defines them on the web Team → Checklist tab. Click Edit steps to add, rename, reorder, or remove steps. Each step has a phase — intake, prenatal, birth, or postpartum — so the checklist follows the arc of care. These apply to every client in the collective.
- Solo: author your own on the Client flow page (under Practice in the nav). Same idea, just for your own clients.
Editing the steps changes the checklist for every client, so it's a shared definition — not a per-client to-do list.
Tracking a client's progress
Open a client → Standard steps tab (under Care). You'll see your steps as a checklist with a "done" count. Tick a step off as you complete it for that client; the phase tag shows where each step sits in the journey. Progress is tracked per client, by whichever doula is assigned to them.
