Share files with a client

Send resources, handouts, and documents to a client — through the app for connected clients, or a private link for managed ones.

You can share files with any client — a feeding guide, a prep checklist, a handout — from their detail page. Connected clients see them in the app; managed clients get a private link by email.

Where to share

Open the client → Files & docs tab group → Shared files.

  • Share a file — upload a new file (PDF, image, or document, up to 25 MB).
  • Choose from your files — reuse a file you've already uploaded to another client, without re-uploading. Cradled stores each file once.

Each shared file shows whether the client has opened it ("Opened" / "Not opened yet"), plus Download and Remove. Removing a file revokes the client's access but keeps it in your files.

How the client gets it

  • Connected clients open shared files in the app's Care tab — no extra step from you.
  • Managed clients (not on the app) open files from a private link. Click Email link to client to send it to the address on their profile. They land on a simple page ("Files from [your name]") with a download for each file. The link is unique to that client.

The Documents tab

Right next to Shared files, the Documents tab is a read-only roll-up of everything you've shared with this client — contracts, intake forms, and plans — with their status (signed, completed, awaiting) in one place. It's for reference; you send files from Shared files, not here.
